After a busy start to the year, representing Australia in both the menswear and womenswear editions of the International Woolmark Prize and presenting during Paris Fashion Week, Peter Strateas and Mario-Luca Carlucci returned home to showcase a collection respecting the climes of both the northern and southern hemispheres.
Titled T R A N S P L A N T, the latest offering from STRATEAS CARLUCCI explores the concept of ‘the urban weed’ and the vivid image of nature breaking through a man-made urban landscape.
Neutral shades of grey, beige and white were enlightened with moss green and a healthy mix of Merino wool was injected into this collection, with the transient nature of the fibre beautifully highlighting the trans-seasonal character of this collection.
Continuing their exploration of binary opposites - a strong theme from the duo’s INDIGITAL collection - this latest androgynous collection was modelled by both males and females, some in matching styled looks such as a Merino wool pant suit.
Traditional tailoring was embellished with a STRATEAS CARLUCCI twist and textural effects achieved by wool were dominant across sweaters, cardigans and over-sized turtlenecks.
